If you are not a swimbait guy that’s ok. They are expensive, hard to find locally, and take a lot of practice to get to know when and how to use these lures. I have been using soft swimbaits more than hard swimbaits, but I can honestly say that these lures can produce a good number of strikes and more times than not they are quality strikes. Check out this video about the Sebile Magic Swimmer. Remember these are preditor lures that catch pike, muskie, walleye, bass and striped bass.

The moon phase has a lot to do with the way fish feed, spawn, and react to conditions. The most noticable time of year is when fish are spawning. I have experience this myself at Chautauqua a few years back while I was fishing for fun. I spent 3 days out on the lake fishing and the first 2 days I was catching prespawn fish for the most part, but the full moon hit the night between the 2nd and 3rd day and all of the sudden there were fish on beds everywhere. Watch the video clip below because it goes into detail about how the moon phase should tell you how to adjust your fishing day no matter what the species you are targeting.
