Big Three Rivers Bass

Postby Greg Evans » Wed Aug 05, 2009 10:26 am

I for one was happy to see some quality fish weighed in by the FLW guys. It was a lot better showing than the Classic where I think the top fish was under 2.5 lbs. It got me thinking about my biggest bass out of the rivers, and although I caught a decent amount of fish up to 2.5 lbs myself, the bigger one's always eluded me. I can think of two

20" Smallie out of the Lower Yough in July of 07. It was caught on a t-rigged tube after a hailstorm.

18" 3 lbs smallie I caught on a small buzzbait in August of 05.

Wow, seeing that second picture makes me realize how far I've let myself go lol.

Let's see some of your better river fish.

I don't do that great on the river for the most part but here is a nice river smallie out of the Pittsburgh Pool back in May of 07'. Got her up by Highland Park Lock on a Yum Dinger. Wasn't a monster but a good fish for the river.

I don't fish the rivers very often but with the recent FLW tourny and Greg and Jons posts it got me thinking about my biggest river fish. After looking through only a few pics I have from fish I caught on the river this is probably the biggest one I have caught. I got this spotted bass off a pillar with drift wood surrounding it. This was the first fish I caught off my boat and came in the Springdale pool back in early spring. I got it on a green pumpkin Berkley craw Texas rigged. Not the biggest river fish but probably the biggest one I have caught to date. Lets see some more pics of fish caught in our 3 Rivers by locals and see how they compare to the fish caught in the FLW Forrest Wood Cup.
