Crappie Spots

Postby Vance66 » Thu Apr 09, 2009 9:28 am

I was looking to get into Crappie Fishing. Anyone have any tips (Best Lakes, Bait Etc...) I normally fish Moraine for Bass and Hybrid Bass but haven't fished for Crappie. Thanks.

If you really want to get into the crappie at moraine then head up into shannon's cove in the spring. They stack up in there just like the bass do. Since the water warms up in there early the bait is there and the crappie move up in. I personally like to use threaded minnows for them. I also use rod runners, joe fly's, and niti's. The nice part about crappie fishing is that you can throw a rod with a pencil or slip bobber out there and then cast another rod at the same time. Once the summer months come around try fishing some of the brush piles on the main lake.
