First try at Airbrushing Crankbaits

First try at Airbrushing Crankbaits

Postby parker085 » Tue Jan 19, 2010 9:31 pm

I thought it would be cool to be able to paint my own crankbaits, so I went out and bought an airbrush and some blanks. Here is a few Megabass Griffon style baits I painted up.

This one I painted with the standard black and white shad pattern with some red eyes.

I tried something a little different and tried to do an alewife looking bait. Some brown and pearl, with black scales, and some light gold highlights.

I will post more as I finish them. If anyone else has any custom painted crankbaits they would like to show off, we would be glad to see them.

Nice job man. Can't wait to hear how they work out for you. I have airbrushed some lures before and what I tend to find is that they work better than the standard colors for one main reason and that is that they are different. Really works well on jerkbaits too.
