I went trout fishing for the first time this year last night. I had some work to do on the boat when I got home and didn’t have enough time to head to the lake, so I headed down to Thorn Creek just South of Butler. I was lucky enough to catch 6 rainbow trout. I caught 1 on a niti, 1 on a joe fly, and 4 on chartruse powerbait. Unfortunantely I lost about 3 or 4 fish as well. Overall I felt pretty good about the night because it has been about 2 years since I had gone trout fishing. The creek was defidently restocked recently.
