From the start of last nights Wednesday Night Tournament at Lake Arthur there were some nasty thunderstorms around. Even with the post spawn in full force and the massive storms around there was a big weigh-in. I believe the storms made the sluggish fish very active. My dad and I managed to catch 4 keepers that weighed 9.98lbs by 8:50 PM. The tournaments last until 10:00 PM, but we decided that we would take our chances and get out of the lightning once we got our limit. Normally, I would never fish in lightning period and we had beach the boat at one point last night as well to let the storms go by, but once we had 3 keepers we knew we could get a limit and give ourselves a chance to win. Hopefully the weather cooperates better next week and the fish bite is just as good. Congratulations to the winners.
