Last night was the second wednesday night tournament of the year at Lake Arthur.  My dad and I were lucky to catch the only limit brought in, but all we caught were skinny 15 1/2″ bass.  Our limit didn’t even break 7lbs!  However, do to the hot weather and post spawn conditions we were able to finish in 3rd place.

Some guys asked me how we were able to get our limit.  The key for us was that we slowed down.  Normally, we tend to spot jump and pick 1 fish up here and there, but last night I knew things were going to be tough.  Once we found where the fish were located we sat on one spot for nearly two hours.  Anyone who knows me knows that I like to cover as much water as I can, but during the post spawn it just doesn’t work out for me.  My advice is once you catch a good fish really work that area because there will be more than one there.
